The use of fixed braces in the orthodontic treatment of adults has been a problem for some people for a long time. The appearance of these braces caused some to stay away from orthodontic treatment. Orthopedic disorders, in which the lower and upper jaws develop in the wrong position with respect to the skull base, can be completely or partially corrected with braces or palatal braces if diagnosed during the growth and development period. In this case, if the necessary intervention is not made, the orthopedic disorder becomes permanent. Functions such as chewing and speaking may be impaired, and a bad appearance may appear on the face. In cases where the lower jaw is first, this is noticed at an earlier age and treatment is often started, but cases where the lower jaw is behind are often ignored. In order not to miss these problems, it is recommended to be examined by an orthodontist at the age of 6-7 years.
